Alumni Spotlight: Kerry C.

Before RefactorU: “I was employed as an IT business analyst at a large investment bank, analyzing business problems and documenting the technical requirements to solve them. I enjoyed working in IT, but couldn’t create the actual solutions or make a large impact on the company.”

After RefactorU: “I have just started as a Strategist at Ranku, a discovery engine for online degrees from traditional (non-profit) universities. I am focused on data analysis and process development, as well as assisting in some front-end development. The combination of my prior analysis experience and my newly acquired developer skills allows me to pitch in where needed across the team."

The RefactorU Career Services network helps students end up at great companies

Our career advisors work with students to develop job search techniques, resume writing skills, communication and interviewing skills, and networking strategies. Our network provides you with access to guest speakers, hiring managers and recruiters for the top companies in the country.

Alumni Spotlight: Jessey E.

Before RefactorU: "I taught second grade overseas in Jordan, at an Islamic school, for a short while. Before RefactorU, I was a children’s director at a church."

After RefactorU: "I did a 10-week paid internship with MakeMusic and worked my butt off because I knew there was a full-time position open on the team. In May they hired me full-time as a QA Web Automation Engineer."

Alumni Spotlight: Clayton B.

Before RefactorU: "I managed restaurants for a small restaurant group, then I switched to working in real estate. While that's been fun, I'd always had the idea of learning how to program in the back of my mind. "

After RefactorU: "I just started at a company called BiggerPockets. It’s a real estate forum and social website for investors who want to meet with people who are selling homes, and it also offers courseware and books for people to go to the next level in their real estate investment."
